Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Dan Pearman started the match with the kick off. After 4 played minutes Glenferrie got a freekick which was hit by Ace Carnduff. After 5 played minutes, Moongobulla's Peter Crane shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Randell Malacarne came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Moongobulla reached it. After 13 minutes of play, Glenferrie's Braedan Paull made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ivan Kurth was left in no man's land by his defense there! Loyd Edwards charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Loyd Edwards the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 17 played minutes Moongobulla got a freekick which was hit by Loyd Edwards. Dan Pearman hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Ivan Kurth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Braedan Paull in the 21st minute of play. Ivan Kurth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carmichael Cootes in the 23rd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dan Pearman got free with Randell Malacarne in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Loyd Edwards in the 27th minute of play forced Glenferrie's goalkeeper Randell Malacarne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Peter Crane notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Glenferrie's Randell Malacarne. Randell Malacarne was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Loyd Edwards could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Randell Malacarne made a huge save. 39 minutes into the game, Bryant Cudmore was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Glenferrie's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Moongobulla the free kick. Bryant Cudmore kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Ivan Kurth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carmichael Cootes in the 44th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Moongobulla's Peter Crane slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Randell Malacarne. That made the score 2-2 after 45 minutes of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Murphey Muddle stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Moongobulla's Ivan Kurth got control of the ball when Braedan Paull tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ivan Kurth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Murphey Muddle in the 57th minute of play. Andrew Minter charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Andrew Minter the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 60 played minutes Glenferrie got a freekick which was hit by Andrew Minter. Glenferrie's Randell Malacarne played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Loyd Edwards in the 64th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Glenferrie's Ivan Kurth threw himself towards the right post 66 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Broderick Johnston, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 67th minute, Dan Pearman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 68th minute Peter Crane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Randell Malacarne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Murphey Muddle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Richard Baptiste's late challenge caught a Glenferrie's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Richard Baptiste helped the player get up and apologised. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Peter Crane in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Randell Malacarne saved Glenferrie from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Moongobulla's Dan Pearman got a free kick in the 78th minute. Randell Malacarne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Loyd Edwards in the 80th minute of the match. Peter Crane struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Randell Malacarne didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Moongobulla. After a rather tough play, Moongobulla's Dan Pearman got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Ivan Kurth was out of position in the 86 minute of play, and Carmichael Cootes capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Carmichael Cootes really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. Loyd Edwards scored 3-3 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Randell Malacarne, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 95th minute Murphey Muddle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Kurth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 96th minute, Loyd Edwards hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Despite being the better team, Moongobulla failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
