Joseph Smee showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sam Millar got free with Buck Leydin in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 60 minutes into the match, Melbourne City FC's goalkeeper Buck Leydin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cod Thiele. Boyd Gaffigan was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 61 minutes into the match. 61 minutes into the game, one of Melbourne City FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 69 minutes into the match, Melbourne City FC's goal looked a bit too open when Joseph Smee came free, but Buck Leydin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Melbourne City FC's Buck Leydin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Melbourne City FC from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as PowerSlim Pro LCD's Byron Ross slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Buck Leydin. That made the score 0-5 after 73 minutes of play. The audience was convinced that Byron Ross's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Buck Leydin was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joseph Smee in the 81st minute of play forced Melbourne City FC's goalkeeper Buck Leydin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
