After 37 minutes of play, Hernani Sydney's Braedan Powley made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Brookes Beale was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 41 minutes, Russ Alves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hunterton and the Hernani Sydney players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Hunterton getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Russ Alves hit a great ball. In the 42nd minute of the match Darren Limmer shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Brookes Beale showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 43rd match minute, Hunterton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benny King to maneuver through the defense. Hunterton's Brookes Beale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darren Limmer in the 47th minute of play.

The wind increased when Bill Crane made the kick off in the second half. Hunterton's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hernani Sydney the free kick. After 89 played minutes Hunterton got a freekick which was hit by Norm Riley. Randell Warhurst showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duffield Crawford in the 91st minute of the match. With 95 minutes on the clock, Norm Riley commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Hunterton fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 94th minute. Penalty! Hunterton's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
