Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Grant Bundy started the match with the kick off. Buck Leydin came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Burrowye's Clark Yard. But to his dismay, Clark Yard quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Melbourne City FC's Buck Leydin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marshal Isaac in the 10th minute of play. After having played for 11 minutes, Grant Bundy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Burrowye's supporters crossed their fingers, but Grant Bundy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 13 minutes into the match, Marshal Isaac dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Buck Leydin, 2-0. In the 17th minute Clark Yard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Buck Leydin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Grant Bundy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Buck Leydin having to interfere. Buck Leydin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marshal Isaac, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rafa Cabral charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rafa Cabral the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Burrowye booed when Melbourne City FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafa Cabral didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Burrowye getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Cliff Lascelles hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Marshal Isaac kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Buck Leydin. That made the score 3-0 in the 32 minute of play. When Grant Bundy came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Burrowye fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Grant Bundy couldn't finish the play. Marshal Isaac kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Grant Bundy got free with Buck Leydin in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Biddle Pickhills stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Buck Leydin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clark Yard, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Clark Yard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Buck Leydin having to interfere. Buck Leydin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clark Yard in the 62nd minute of the match. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Buck Leydin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Buck Leydin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clark Yard, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Grant Bundy's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Buck Leydin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, Melbourne City FC's goal looked a bit too open when Grant Bundy came free, but Buck Leydin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Buck Leydin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clark Yard in the 94th minute of play. Buck Leydin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clark Yard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There was no doubt that Burrowye were the better team. Burrowye's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
