Alberto Hickman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Humphry Kuskoff tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute there was a penalty for Adelaide. Reese Johnson stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Humphry Kuskoff. 0-1. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Bradley Notley took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Douglas Christian to make any attempt to save it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Roger Laughton during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 31st match minute, Wakatu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roger Laughton to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Wakatu getting a freekick after 42 minutes play.
