When the match had gone on for 6 minutes, Benny Chamberlain put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Elliot Letsch. In the 11th minute, Adelaide's Jeremy Palmington ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Elliot Letsch. The supporters of Shepperd booed when Adelaide was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benny Chamberlain didn't get a good kick on the ball. Casper Brien hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. After having played for 19 minutes, Benny Chamberlain managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Adelaide's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benny Chamberlain was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jesse Holdsworth in the 23rd minute of play forced Adelaide's goalkeeper Douglas Christian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jesse Holdsworth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Douglas Christian having to interfere. In the 28thth minute of the game Barth Bowman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Adelaide's Douglas Christian was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Shepperd's Elliot Letsch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darren Paynter in the 30th minute of play. If Benny Chamberlain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benny Chamberlain kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Douglas Christian stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jesse Holdsworth's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. After having played for 37 minutes, Benny Chamberlain managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Darren Paynter made a kick off. Shepperd's Elliot Letsch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darren Paynter in the 51st minute of play. In the 64th minute Darren Paynter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elliot Letsch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benny Chamberlain took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Elliot Letsch. Elliot Letsch dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Shepperd's Elliot Letsch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benny Chamberlain in the 73rd minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Adelaide's goalkeeper Douglas Christian had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Barth Bowman. 79 minutes into the match, Shepperd's goal looked a bit too open when Darren Paynter came free, but Elliot Letsch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Shepperd's Elliot Letsch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darren Paynter in the 82nd minute of play. A collision led to Shepperd getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Murphey Toomey hit a great ball. When Benny Chamberlain came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Adelaide fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benny Chamberlain couldn't finish the play. Adelaide walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
