When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Brandon Kaine took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Britton Oconnell to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilberto Larpe in the 10th minute of play forced Maitland's goalkeeper Britton Oconnell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Liverpool East FC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Brandon Kaine hit a great ball. 16 minutes into the match, Liverpool East FC's goal looked a bit too open when Payton Hamilton came free, but Jonty Starling reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Britton Oconnell was a little too slow when Brandon Kaine got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 19th minute. The score was now 2-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Liverpool East FC's Martyon Lorenz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Britton Oconnell. That made the score 3-0 after 23 minutes of play. Stephan Wivell might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Britton Oconnell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stephan Wivell ran back to his position shaking his head. Maitland's Britton Oconnell proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Maitland from getting a goal against them. An unexpected shot in the 31st minute by Gilberto Larpe got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 33rd minute, Stephan Wivell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Payton Hamilton in the 34th minute of play forced Liverpool East FC's goalkeeper Jonty Starling to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Britton Oconnell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brandon Kaine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rex Mcinnes kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. A hard shot by Carleton Lewry from long distance, 39 minutes into the match, got Britton Oconnell's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After a defensive mix-up in Maitland's zone, Martyon Lorenz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Britton Oconnell came out of the goal and Martyon Lorenz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Liverpool East FC fans' excitement grew in the 42nd match minute when Liverpool East FC's Martyon Lorenz looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Martyon Lorenz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Gilberto Larpe had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Britton Oconnell. Maitland's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gilberto Larpe was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. 55 minutes into the match, Liverpool East FC's goalkeeper Jonty Starling had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Payton Hamilton. Jonty Starling showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humphrey Wilde, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. The Maitland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Britton Oconnell should have stopped the shot. In the 83rd minute, Martyon Lorenz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Britton Oconnell was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. Laurence Minne kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. After 93 played minutes Liverpool East FC got a freekick which was hit by Laurence Minne. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gilberto Larpe during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Humphrey Wilde received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jonty Starling came out and tried to block the shot, but Humphrey Wilde slotted it home off the left post making it 9-1 in the 96th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Liverpool East FC had played much better football throughout.
