In the 31st minute Humphrey Wilde shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matt Triplett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, Maitland's goalkeeper Britton Oconnell had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jesse Ceney. A collision led to Maitland getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Dalton Norman hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pierre Mccartan got free with Britton Oconnell in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Manchester United's Jesse Ceney got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Payton Hamilton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Payton Hamilton to make the kick off. Matt Triplett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humphrey Wilde, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. 56 minutes into the match, Jesse Ceney notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Maitland's Britton Oconnell. Britton Oconnell was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 59 minutes into the match, Maitland's goal looked a bit too open when Pierre Mccartan came free, but Britton Oconnell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jesse Ceney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tony Hess scored 3-1 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Britton Oconnell, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 65th minute Tony Hess shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Britton Oconnell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Maitland booed when Manchester United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sabastian Aroege didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dalton Norman received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Matt Triplett came out and tried to block the shot, but Dalton Norman slotted it home off the left post making it 3-2 in the 73rd minute. When Tony Hess fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Manchester United's protests and gave Tony Hess a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Manchester United getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Tony Hess hit a great ball. Matt Triplett made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Payton Hamilton sent off a good shot on target. Britton Oconnell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tony Hess, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Maitland's Humphrey Wilde in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Britton Oconnell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jesse Ceney in the 90th minute of the match. After having played for 92 minutes, Payton Hamilton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maitland's supporters crossed their fingers, but Payton Hamilton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Britton Oconnell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tony Hess in the 95th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tony Hess in the 97th minute of play forced Maitland's goalkeeper Britton Oconnell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Maitland players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Manchester United.
