Spectators: 8585 (Terracing: 6460, Seating: 1980, VIP seats: 145) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jacob Connolly kicked off to start the match. After some careless play in the Ridgley defense, Curtis Hilton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Martin Legg. The Ridgley fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Martin Legg should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Ridgley booed when Wellington Phoenix was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barnard Pickhills didn't get a good kick on the ball. Martin Legg was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Art Schulze showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 12 minute of play. Wellington Phoenix's Sabastian Beins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matthias Renny in the 16th minute of play. Jacob Connolly recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Art Schulze might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Martin Legg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Art Schulze ran back to his position shaking his head. 20 minutes into the match, Ridgley's goal looked a bit too open when Art Schulze came free, but Martin Legg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Downing Beverly fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. When Downing Beverly came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Wellington Phoenix fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Downing Beverly couldn't finish the play. If Earnest Algoud had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Wellington Phoenix getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Howard Maddern hit a great ball. Matthias Renny sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Danny Barry hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Curtis Hilton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wellington Phoenix's supporters rose to their feet, but Curtis Hilton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martin Legg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 47 minutes into the match, Ridgley's goal looked a bit too open when Downing Beverly came free, but Martin Legg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Martin Legg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Art Schulze, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Martin Legg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Curtis Hilton in the 53rd minute of play. In the 53rd minute, Fleming Ross hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Downing Beverly received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Martin Legg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 74 played minutes Wellington Phoenix got a freekick which was hit by Nathan Gaines. In the 78th minute Art Schulze shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Legg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Ridgley getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Earnest Algoud hit a great ball. In the 83rd minute Art Schulze shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Legg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Curtis Hilton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Legg having to interfere. If Art Schulze had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
