Pearce Skurrie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 5th minute, Alfred Pincini reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Christian Kerville. The goal made the score 1-0. Pearce Skurrie stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Neal Weatherby's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. When Elderslie Magpies's Neal Weatherby in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Thoona's goalie prevented a goal. Alfred Pincini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 37 played minutes Thoona got a freekick which was hit by Boyd Beckwith. After having played for 41 minutes, Rick Souness managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Elderslie Magpies's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rick Souness was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Elderslie Magpies's Christian Kerville proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Elderslie Magpies from getting a goal against them. Christian Kerville made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfred Pincini in the 47th minute. The Thoona players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Elderslie Magpies were winning 1-2.

To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 83 played minutes Thoona got a freekick which was hit by Herman Wall. Neal Weatherby came free with the goalkeeper in the 84th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Pearce Skurrie could save by the left post. Christian Kerville took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfred Pincini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcus Huff in the 87th minute of play forced Elderslie Magpies's goalkeeper Christian Kerville to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Elderslie Magpies's goal looked a bit too open when Marcus Huff came free, but Christian Kerville reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Neal Weatherby came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Elderslie Magpies fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Neal Weatherby couldn't finish the play. After having played for 96 minutes, Steven Chaptal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Elderslie Magpies's supporters crossed their fingers, but Steven Chaptal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Thoona supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Elderslie Magpies's performance. The match ended with a win for Elderslie Magpies.
