In the 7th minute Humphrey Virgin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oswald Verhaeghen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oswald Verhaeghen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humphrey Virgin, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Brookton's Oswald Verhaeghen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humphrey Virgin in the 11th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Humphrey Virgin in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Oswald Verhaeghen saved Brookton from getting behind. When Crusaders's Humphrey Virgin in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Brookton's goalie prevented a goal. 25 minutes into the match, Crusaders's Eustacio Astrada sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Oswald Verhaeghen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Todd Morrison had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Humphrey Virgin in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Oswald Verhaeghen saved Brookton from getting behind. When the match clock showed 35 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Eustacio Astrada sped through Brookton's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Oswald Verhaeghen. 38 minutes into the match, Brookton's goal looked a bit too open when Humphrey Virgin came free, but Oswald Verhaeghen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eustacio Astrada who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 39thth minute tested the skills of Oswald Verhaeghen when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 44th minute, Brookton's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Humphrey Virgin fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Humphrey Virgin made the kick off in the second half. Eustacio Astrada struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Oswald Verhaeghen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Crusaders. Crusaders's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
