Paco Everett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reginald Mills having to interfere. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Shadforth's goalkeeper Reginald Mills, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 10th minute, Jason Sperling hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Shadforth's Larkins Laing got a free kick in the 12th minute. After some careless play in the Boroondara Milan defense, Darell Pincini kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bath Boyce. The Boroondara Milan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bath Boyce should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Boroondara Milan's Kris Pearse got a free kick in the 25th minute. Bath Boyce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicholas Beale, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. After a rather tough play, Shadforth's Porter Oneill got a free kick in the 46th minute. The Boroondara Milan players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Shadforth were winning 0-1.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Darell Pincini to make the kick off. Bath Boyce was a little too slow when Lewis Maunsell got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 55th minute. The score was now 0-2. Larkins Laing got a throw-in 58 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Ollie Grieve. Paco Everett received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Reginald Mills tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reginald Mills took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kris Pearse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Boroondara Milan were awarded a corner in the 69th minute after Shadforth's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ned Mills took the corner. Boroondara Milan's Rusty Reynolds was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Reginald Mills in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Reginald Mills took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Drake Sobczak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th minute, Arty Shearn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 81st minute, Shadforth's Darell Pincini dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. The supporters of Boroondara Milan booed when Shadforth was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ollie Grieve didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Shadforth eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
