Spectators: 9215 (Terracing: 6913, Seating: 2119, VIP seats: 183) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ryan Tebby started the match with the kick off. After 7 minutes of play, Kangaroos's Caine Pearson made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Oswald Verhaeghen was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bradshaw Kean sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Vickery stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Niles Hodson's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. With his leg Oswald Verhaeghen managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when Kangaroos's Nash Pukallus fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 25 minutes into the match, Bradshaw Kean had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Oswald Verhaeghen. Brookton's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bradshaw Kean was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Oswald Verhaeghen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caine Pearson in the 27th minute of the match. In the 29th minute of the match Kangaroos got a corner. Brookton's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nichol Rhoades ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Kangaroos's Nichol Rhoades to fire away a dangerous shot which Oswald Verhaeghen despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Bradshaw Kean fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oswald Verhaeghen having to interfere. After some careless play in the Brookton defense, Bradshaw Kean kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oswald Verhaeghen. The Brookton fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oswald Verhaeghen should have stopped the shot. Nash Pukallus struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Oswald Verhaeghen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kangaroos. With a little luck, Brookton's Oswald Verhaeghen got control of the ball when Nash Pukallus tried to sneak it across the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.

Oswald Verhaeghen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bradshaw Kean in the 51st minute of play. 53 minutes into the game, Kangaroos's Nash Pukallus nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Oswald Verhaeghen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. 55 minutes into the match, Kangaroos's Bradshaw Kean sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Oswald Verhaeghen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 58thth minute of the game Nash Pukallus who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brookton's Oswald Verhaeghen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 66 minutes, the score became 7-0 when Nash Pukallus sped through Brookton's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Oswald Verhaeghen. Bradshaw Kean scored 8-0 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Oswald Verhaeghen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Oswald Verhaeghen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nash Pukallus's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. Caine Pearson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Oswald Verhaeghen having to make a save. After some careless play in the Brookton defense, Caine Pearson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oswald Verhaeghen. The Brookton fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oswald Verhaeghen should have stopped the shot. Bradshaw Kean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Oswald Verhaeghen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bradshaw Kean in the 91st minute of play forced Brookton's goalkeeper Oswald Verhaeghen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Matthew Tout in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Oswald Verhaeghen saved Brookton from getting behind. Oswald Verhaeghen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matthew Tout, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute.
