In the 12th minute of the match Flying Hellfish got a corner. Australian Youth Academy's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Everitt Obree ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Everitt Obree almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Australian Youth Academy's Keylor Navas did a great save. Flying Hellfish's Kazimierz Wielkopolski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Flying Hellfish from getting a goal against them. When Karl-Oskar Lund came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Flying Hellfish fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karl-Oskar Lund couldn't finish the play. Keylor Navas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karl Howarth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Garth Brough could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Kazimierz Wielkopolski made a huge save. The throw-in from Jarrod Mcmillan in the 29th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Flying Hellfish's Nevada Soto. Karl Howarth's late challenge caught a Australian Youth Academy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Karl Howarth helped the player get up and apologised. In the 31st match minute, Flying Hellfish was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karl Howarth to maneuver through the defense. In the 38th minute Karl Howarth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keylor Navas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Australian Youth Academy made a substitution. Fletcher Baba replaced Gabriel Martini. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Garth Brough was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Flying Hellfish's goal looked a bit too open when Fletcher Baba came free, but Kazimierz Wielkopolski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Australian Youth Academy getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Hermengildo Mambru hit a great ball. Everitt Obree could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Keylor Navas made a huge save. Kazimierz Wielkopolski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fletcher Baba, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Garth Brough in the 62nd minute of play forced Flying Hellfish's goalkeeper Kazimierz Wielkopolski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Afloroaiei in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Keylor Navas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 76 minutes into the match, Australian Youth Academy's goalkeeper Keylor Navas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Afloroaiei. In the 77th minute Ellis Hoskin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kazimierz Wielkopolski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Daniel Afloroaiei kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Keylor Navas. That made the score 0-2 in the 81 minute of play. In the 89th minute Garth Brough shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kazimierz Wielkopolski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Australian Youth Academy were furious when Jarrod Mcmillan was red carded, 91 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Flying Hellfish walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
