Laurens Erenstein fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alvaro Ortle having to interfere. Ted Borker's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alvaro Ortle read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. It was a well-played corner which Robert Folkers managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ted Borker to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Ted Borker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Ortle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 55th minute, Aquiles Alfonso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After taking down the ball on Ágætis Byrjun's corner Ted Borker fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Alvaro Ortle quite easily take care of the ball.
