After 13 minutes Vikingos FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Aureliano Buendia who took care of the corner kick. Aureliano Buendia made a great header on CD Municipal's corner, it was just that Vikingos FC's Sebastián Sosa managed to reach the ball for a save. George Forsyth didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vladimiro Lauro went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Sebastián Sosa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Enrique Cassaretto in the 24th minute. Sebastián Sosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evtim Kúrdzhev in the 27th minute of the match. Enrique Cassaretto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 38th minute Roque Vito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Forsyth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lucas Huidobro made in the 40th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Iacob Roman. In the 43rd minute, Vladimiro Lauro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vikingos FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After 47 minutes, Aureliano Buendia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CD Municipal and the Vikingos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, CD Municipal's Aureliano Buendia got a free kick in the 47th minute. The CD Municipal players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Vikingos FC were winning 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Enrique Cassaretto made a kick off. Enrique Cassaretto kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. CD Municipal's George Forsyth proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save CD Municipal from getting a goal against them. Vladimiro Lauro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but George Forsyth read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. 65 minutes into the game, Enrique Cassaretto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Sebastián Sosa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. CD Municipal's Tulio Andinyach was substituted for Evtim Kúrdzhev. CD Municipal made a substitution. Gunnar Ekrot replaced Zlatan Molina. Enrique Cassaretto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sebastián Sosa having to make a save. If Gunnar Ekrot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ladislao Erramu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. George Forsyth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tulio Andinyach struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Sebastián Sosa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CD Municipal.
