Rene Vereijt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Borys Moizuk, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. La France FC's Fulvio Vittorio managed to work through FC Ouagadougou National's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Fulvio Vittorio dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. The audience was convinced that Juan Huerta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rene Vereijt was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. When Fulvio Vittorio came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the La France FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fulvio Vittorio couldn't finish the play. FC Ouagadougou National's Rene Vereijt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fulvio Vittorio in the 38th minute of play. The audience was convinced that William Westelinx's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Geronimo Argi was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Borys Moizuk in the 57th minute of play forced FC Ouagadougou National's goalkeeper Rene Vereijt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that William Westelinx's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Geronimo Argi was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. The referee felt a red card was in order, 88 minutes into the game, when German Bernebe put in a rough tackle. In the 88th minute, one of FC Ouagadougou National:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC Ouagadougou National. FC Ouagadougou National:s Rene Vereijt showed great skill when he stopped Mei Wei Xuan:s penalty. 91 minutes into the match, Mei Wei Xuan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rene Vereijt. FC Ouagadougou National's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mei Wei Xuan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. The supporters of FC Ouagadougou National booed when La France FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esteban Cambiasso didn't get a good kick on the ball.

La France FC's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because FC Ouagadougou National had won, even though La France FC had held more of the ball.
