The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fotbal Club Vaslui's attentive Filip Aanicăi managed to snatch the ball when Epigonoi Honjas made a throw-in in the 7th minute of the game. Genaro Montez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karol Panasewicz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 14 minutes of play, Blue Mountain State's Karol Panasewicz made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Genaro Montez was left in no man's land by his defense there! 19 minutes into the match, Karol Panasewicz notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Fotbal Club Vaslui's Genaro Montez. Genaro Montez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Genaro Montez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Karol Panasewicz's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Genaro Montez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karol Panasewicz, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. The supporters of Fotbal Club Vaslui booed when Blue Mountain State was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Epigonoi Honjas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 34 minutes, Aykut Aşkın managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Blue Mountain State's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aykut Aşkın was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 45th minute, Karol Panasewicz made a precise shot to the right of Genaro Montez. Fotbal Club Vaslui's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Traian Traian stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Genaro Montez made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Karol Panasewicz sent off a good shot on target. Karol Panasewicz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Genaro Montez having to make a save. In the 66thth minute of the game Karol Panasewicz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fotbal Club Vaslui's Genaro Montez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 71st minute, Karol Panasewicz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Genaro Montez was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. Blue Mountain State's George Popescu was substituted for Aykut Aşkın. Blue Mountain State made a substitution. Gökcan Bergin replaced Tang Yang Le. Epigonoi Honjas made in the 80th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Fotbal Club Vaslui's Gică Hăulică. Robin Sharma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matías Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lionel-Andrés Messi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Genaro Montez made a huge save. Mihnea Stanca hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Fotbal Club Vaslui made a substitution. Maurinho Maranhense replaced Teodor Huștiu. After 89 played minutes Fotbal Club Vaslui got a freekick which was hit by Mihnea Stanca. Yaser Oğuzman might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Genaro Montez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Yaser Oğuzman ran back to his position shaking his head. 93 minutes into the match, Fotbal Club Vaslui's goal looked a bit too open when Gökcan Bergin came free, but Genaro Montez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Genaro Montez made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Lionel-Andrés Messi sent off a good shot on target.

When the match was over Blue Mountain State could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Fotbal Club Vaslui throughout the match.
