In the 3rd minute, Valeriu Ilinca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cats and dogs's Maxime Péron played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Radu Păvăloae in the 6th minute of play. Aurelian Coporan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Louineau, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, Academia Rio's Maxime Péron threw himself towards the right post 11 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Virgil Şimonca, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Terry Sauvestre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurelian Coporan having to interfere. When Academia Rio's Radu Păvăloae in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The supporters of Cats and dogs booed when Academia Rio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dumitru Pantelimon didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Terry Sauvestre fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cats and dogs's protests and gave Terry Sauvestre a yellow card for diving instead. Maxime Péron stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sergiu Coșeriu's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. Maxime Péron showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Virgil Şimonca in the 92nd minute of the match. Gaétan Bouchard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurelian Coporan having to interfere. Academia Rio were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Cats and dogs for a fine match.
