Emil Cvitanović showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lasse Delvig in the 16th minute of the match. In the 19th minute, Croatia's Nikola Vlašić ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nils Elmhuus. Nils Elmhuus yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Croatia's Emil Cvitanović played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stuart Byman in the 22nd minute of play. Emil Cvitanović made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stuart Byman in the 23rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paw Carbac in the 27th minute of play forced Croatia's goalkeeper Emil Cvitanović to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute, Martin Rana left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Denmark fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. 32 minutes into the match, Denmark's goalkeeper Nils Elmhuus had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nikola Vlašić. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joško Poklepović made a kick off.
