Bill Carmichael made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Augusto Tróia in the 13th minute of play. Martin Giöck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dylan Boegaert in the 21st minute of the match. 24 minutes into the match, Stickleback Utd Xl's goal looked a bit too open when Dawid Kochowski came free, but Martin Giöck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Stickleback Utd Xl's goalkeeper Martin Giöck had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luis Fernández. When Brent Goldsmith fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gasca Nebuna's protests and gave Brent Goldsmith a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Gasca Nebuna getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Brent Goldsmith hit a great ball. Carlos Augusto Tróia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kris Tetley in the 33rd minute of play forced Gasca Nebuna's goalkeeper Bill Carmichael to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute, Dawid Kochowski made a precise shot to the right of Martin Giöck. Stickleback Utd Xl's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dawid Kochowski got free with Martin Giöck in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dawid Kochowski got in the 39th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Martin Giöck handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. In the 42ndth minute of the game Dawid Kochowski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stickleback Utd Xl's Martin Giöck was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jeff Beck hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Stickleback Utd Xl's Martin Giöck got control of the ball when Luis Fernández tried to sneak it across the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Stickleback Utd Xl made a substitution. Cliff Flower replaced Dale Couch. Stickleback Utd Xl's Jhonny Del Fierro was substituted for Silvester Odell. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dawid Kochowski made a kick off. Martin Giöck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juliusz Julku, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Wilson Piazza's late challenge caught a Gasca Nebuna's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wilson Piazza helped the player get up and apologised. The audience was convinced that Dawid Kochowski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Martin Giöck was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. Stickleback Utd Xl's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Luis Fernández came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Gasca Nebuna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Fernández couldn't finish the play.
