In the 21st minute Prospero Perico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hansjörg Wastl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes had been played when some careless play by Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cleto Confesor was slow to take the kick. During this time Lobos de Carelia's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Lobos de Carelia's Cleto Confesor to fire away a dangerous shot which Hansjörg Wastl despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Lobos de Carelia's Nestor Cortez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Lobos de Carelia from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Lobos de Carelia defense, Henrique Borges kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nestor Cortez. The Lobos de Carelia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nestor Cortez should have stopped the shot. Henrique Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Naldo Valladares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nestor Cortez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. Nestor Cortez was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ fans cheered their team off the field, for while Lobos de Carelia had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
