In the 13th match minute, FC Rägi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Timothy Ostermann to maneuver through the defense. Ademar Rocha blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without August Hoffmanns having to make a save. In the 18th minute of the match, Anestis Kotsopoulos tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Zachariasz Moryl saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 20 minutes into the match, FC Rägi's goalkeeper Zachariasz Moryl had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hugo Haupt. Jürgen Leu scored 0-1 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of August Hoffmanns, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 28thth minute of the game Ademar Rocha who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zachariasz Moryl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anestis Kotsopoulos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, FC Rägi's Claude Dupasquier got a free kick in the 35th minute. Zachariasz Moryl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anestis Kotsopoulos in the 36th minute of play. Ademar Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. August Hoffmanns tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andreas Weiand in the 40th minute of play forced Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper August Hoffmanns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Slade Küng's late challenge caught a Rot-Weiss-Essen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Slade Küng helped the player get up and apologised. After 44 played minutes FC Rägi got a freekick which was hit by Slade Küng. In the 45th minute, Maximilian Henning sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and FC Rägi's Zachariasz Moryl didn't even have to move. In the 47th minute Ademar Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but August Hoffmanns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Octavian Basten to strike the kick off in the second half. FC Rägi were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after Rot-Weiss-Essen's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fremont Schneider took the corner. The audience was convinced that Ademar Rocha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but August Hoffmanns was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. After 97 minutes of play, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Octavian Basten made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zachariasz Moryl was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FC Rägi eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
