With a little luck, Plaza Jewell's Pablo Mei got control of the ball when Mesut Özil tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pablo Mei showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anestis Kotsopoulos, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Pablo Mei made an important save on a dangerous shot by Octavian Basten in the 17th minute. With a little luck, Plaza Jewell's Pablo Mei got control of the ball when Mesut Özil tried to sneak it across the goal line. The corner led Rot-Weiss-Essen's Maximilian Henning to fire away a dangerous shot which Pablo Mei despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hugo Haupt got free with Pablo Mei in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 23rd match minute, Rot-Weiss-Essen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mesut Özil to maneuver through the defense. The shot was a little too simple and Pablo Mei could save by the left post. After 39 minutes, Zabal Ubeda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Plaza Jewell and the Rot-Weiss-Essen players grew even worse after the yellow card. Zabal Ubeda kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Pablo Mei made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Octavian Basten sent off a good shot on target. Pablo Mei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Octavian Basten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

In the 51st minute, Hugo Haupt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rot-Weiss-Essen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Pablo Mei was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Rot-Weiss-Essen fully deserved thier win.
