Paolo Caradaro's late challenge caught a Mervaleta FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paolo Caradaro helped the player get up and apologised. Mervaleta FC's Leo Nesto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfonso Goicoechea in the 17th minute of play. After 19 minutes Mervaleta FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Emil Chwalkiewicz who took care of the corner kick. After 19 minutes, Paolo Caradaro made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Mervaleta FC's Leo Nesto tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Pankracy Glogowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dario Quexal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alfonso Goicoechea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leo Nesto having to interfere. Mervaleta FC's Leo Nesto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfonso Goicoechea in the 30th minute of play. Leo Nesto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alfonso Goicoechea's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Alfonso Goicoechea kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Leo Nesto. That made the score 2-0 in the 35 minute of play. Alfonso Goicoechea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Pankracy Glogowski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alfonso Goicoechea was the one to do the kick off. The Club Atlético Atlanta fans' excitement grew in the 51st match minute when Club Atlético Atlanta's Paolo Caradaro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Alfonso Goicoechea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 56th minute, Mugur Chiriac made a precise shot to the right of Leo Nesto. Mervaleta FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. When the match clock showed 61 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Justino Erruki sped through Club Atlético Atlanta's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Pankracy Glogowski. Pankracy Glogowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Epifanio Javiero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Mervaleta FC's Santo Herensuge got a free kick in the 65th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Emil Chwalkiewicz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atlético Atlanta's supporters rose to their feet, but Emil Chwalkiewicz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leo Nesto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leo Nesto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alfonso Goicoechea's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. If Alfonso Goicoechea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Club Atlético Atlanta's Ciro Ferdinand got a free kick in the 76th minute. Club Atlético Atlanta's Pankracy Glogowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justino Erruki in the 77th minute of play. In the 80th minute Alfonso Goicoechea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leo Nesto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emil Chwalkiewicz took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 82nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Leo Nesto. Mervaleta FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Pankracy Glogowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Justino Erruki, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Anselmo Nevada hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Mervaleta FC's Leo Nesto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfonso Goicoechea in the 92nd minute of play. Justino Erruki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Pankracy Glogowski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mervaleta FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
