The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Frank Mora showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Grêmio Papão de WC's Andréas Linquist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hector Ruiz in the 37th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Hector Ruiz made the kick off in the second half.
