The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Dark club booed when Guayanazes SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jânio Linares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Evandro Linhares struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Willy Tourte didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guayanazes SC. Evandro Linhares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willy Tourte having to interfere. Alfredinho Moreno made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Noureddine Jacquemot sent off a good shot on target. Noureddine Jacquemots short, quick shot in the 22ndth minute got Alfredinho Moreno to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, Guayanazes SC's Hudson Paiva got a free kick in the 25th minute. Sébastien Pérou received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Alfredinho Moreno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 29 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Noureddine Jacquemot sped through Guayanazes SC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alfredinho Moreno. Willy Tourte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henrique Paraense in the 39th minute of the match. Evandro Linhares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Willy Tourte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dida Baptista charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dida Baptista the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a defensive mix-up in Dark club's zone, Evandro Linhares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Willy Tourte came out of the goal and Evandro Linhares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

A collision led to Guayanazes SC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Luiz Guilherme de Amaral hit a great ball. After having played for 56 minutes, Sébastien Pérou managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dark club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sébastien Pérou was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 57th match minute, Guayanazes SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodolfo Arantes to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Noureddine Jacquemot managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dark club's supporters rose to their feet, but Noureddine Jacquemot was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfredinho Moreno breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Evandro Linharess short, quick shot in the 59thth minute got Willy Tourte to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Alfredinho Moreno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sébastien Pérou in the 69th minute of play. After 72 minutes, Sébastien Pérou made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. Guayanazes SC's Alfredinho Moreno tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 76 minutes into the match, Dark club's goalkeeper Willy Tourte had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Evandro Linhares. Alfredinho Moreno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Noureddine Jacquemot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 93rd minute Henrique Paraense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Willy Tourte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Noureddine Jacquemot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Dark club fans cheered their team off the field, for while Guayanazes SC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
