An unexpectedly hard shot by Jochen Ziegler in the 2nd minute of play forced FC Smolenice's goalkeeper Tibor Dupal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tibor Dupal showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jochen Ziegler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Tibor Dupal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jochen Ziegler scored 0-2 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tibor Dupal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Richard Konkoly was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, FC Smolenice's Tibor Dupal got control of the ball when Anders Ulrich tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 60th minute, FC Stadtclub's Carlos Dufresne ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tibor Dupal. After 92 minutes, Lamberto Perktold mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Stadtclub and the FC Smolenice players grew even worse after the yellow card.
