A very good chance for a goal. In the 16th minute, Pedro Finn ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Junior Hemphill was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The audience was convinced that Del Cleveland's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rusty Little was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Rusty Little showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alistair Leslie in the 31st minute of the match. If Sherman Shipp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nathanial Buckner hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. The supporters of Santos FC booed when Khachatryan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Del Cleveland didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jamar Burton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Junior Hemphill tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Junior Hemphill made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Pedro Finn sent off a good shot on target. After 45 played minutes Khachatryan got a freekick which was hit by Daron Thorne.

The audience was convinced that Pedro Finn's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Junior Hemphill was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. Rusty Little made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sherman Shipp in the 56th minute. Sherman Shipp received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rusty Little came out and tried to block the shot, but Sherman Shipp slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 56th minute. After a rather tough play, Khachatryan's Marc Saldana got a free kick in the 59th minute. After 62 minutes, Kerry Petty mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Khachatryan and the Santos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 62nd minute, Kerry Petty hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Khachatryan's zone, Jamar Maxwell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Junior Hemphill came out of the goal and Jamar Maxwell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Junior Hemphill made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Finn in the 65th minute of play. Alistair Leslie hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Santos FC's Rusty Little played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alistair Leslie in the 72nd minute of play. Rusty Little made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Alistair Leslie sent off a good shot on target. Daron Thorne struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Rusty Little didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Khachatryan. Junior Hemphill didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from J.P. Delarosa went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Rusty Little made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Alistair Leslie sent off a good shot on target. In the 87th minute of the match Khachatryan got a corner. Santos FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Kerry Petty ran over to the corner to take the kick. Khachatryan's Kerry Petty was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Rusty Little in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Khachatryan's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
