An unexpectedly hard shot by Sherwood Franks in the 23rd minute of play forced El Canalla de Chicago's goalkeeper Jonah Peck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonah Peck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Finn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonah Peck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Finn in the 29th minute of the match. Rusty Little took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clark Lindsey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 36 minutes into the game, Leon Burr threw the ball into play from the sideline. El Canalla de Chicago's Rudolph Thurman quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 37th minute, Bernie Rosales got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 39 minutes into the match, Santos FC's goalkeeper Rusty Little had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bernie Rosales. In the 43rd minute, Kent Carney got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Santos FC's Rusty Little proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Santos FC from getting a goal against them. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Clark Lindsey made a kick off. When the match clock showed 51 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Clark Lindsey sped through Santos FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rusty Little. Santos FC's Rusty Little played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clark Lindsey in the 57th minute of play. Rusty Little took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dustin Thome, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 63rd minute Pedro Finn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonah Peck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. El Canalla de Chicago made a substitution. Scott Souza replaced Bernie Rosales. Benito Hyde kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. In the 78th minute, Scott Souza ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rusty Little was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. A collision led to Santos FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Leon Burr hit a great ball. Rusty Little showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Scott Souza, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Santos FC's Rusty Little played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clark Lindsey in the 87th minute of play. Rusty Little made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Scott Souza in the 89th minute of play. After a rather tough play, El Canalla de Chicago's Leo Finn got a free kick in the 90th minute. El Canalla de Chicago's Clark Lindsey got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kent Carney blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rusty Little having to make a save.
