Aaron Smallwood showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Justus Lintorf, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Justus Lintorf in the 7th minute of play forced Santos FC's goalkeeper Aaron Smallwood to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 11th minute Nicky Bryson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aaron Smallwood saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. C. A. Pipon Pipon were awarded a corner in the 12th minute after Santos FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Al Whatley took the corner. The corner ended in Al Whatley almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Santos FC's Aaron Smallwood did a great save. C. A. Pipon Pipon's Cesario Irazu got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 16th minute, Tyron Velasquez fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jannes Ruttens, passed just outside the right post. C. A. Pipon Pipon's Jannes Ruttens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lanny Gilmore in the 19th minute of play. Lanny Gilmore could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Jannes Ruttens made a huge save. Terence Nicholas hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Aaron Smallwood showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicky Bryson, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Jannes Ruttens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lanny Gilmore in the 28th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mike Richardson during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 29 minutes into the game, one of Santos FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After 34 played minutes C. A. Pipon Pipon got a freekick which was hit by Catana Dinha. After recieving a nice pass, Santos FC's Warren Ruiz tried to score from far away in the 34th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Aaron Smallwood showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicky Bryson in the 46th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 54th minute Lanny Gilmore shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jannes Ruttens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Justus Lintorf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, C. A. Pipon Pipon's Cesario Irazu got a free kick in the 58th minute. Titus Kohler kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Nicky Bryson might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aaron Smallwood. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nicky Bryson ran back to his position shaking his head. Lanny Gilmore recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. C. A. Pipon Pipon's Benito Morin was substituted for Al Whatley. If Justus Lintorf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aaron Smallwood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beto Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The corner led C. A. Pipon Pipon's Cesario Irazu to fire away a dangerous shot which Aaron Smallwood despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Santos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Justus Lintorf came free, but Aaron Smallwood reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. C. A. Pipon Pipon made a substitution. Malcolm McIntosh replaced Beto Montenegro. Lanny Gilmore hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Aaron Smallwood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicky Bryson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Santos FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Warren Ruiz in the 93rd minute. Santos FC's Warren Ruiz was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jannes Ruttens in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in.
