An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilson Gold in the 8th minute of play forced Santos FC's goalkeeper Aaron Smallwood to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 9 minutes into the match Lanny Gilmore climbed in front of goal and pressed up 2-0 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Lucrețiu Gherase. Dan Feliciano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 13 played minutes Lake Mohawk FC got a freekick which was hit by Preston Ferreira. After a rather tough play, Lake Mohawk FC's Rory Talbot got a free kick in the 14th minute. Lucrețiu Gherase made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tyron Velasquez in the 15th minute of play. Lucrețiu Gherase was a little too slow when Tyron Velasquez got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 17th minute. The score was now 3-0. Lake Mohawk FC's Lucrețiu Gherase proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Lake Mohawk FC from getting a goal against them. Lucrețiu Gherase made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Lanny Gilmore sent off a good shot on target. Rory Talbot hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Preston Ferreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 32 minutes had been played when some careless play by Lake Mohawk FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Warren Ruiz was slow to take the kick. During this time Santos FC's players had a chance to rest. In the 33rd minute, Preston Ferreira made a precise shot to the right of Aaron Smallwood. Santos FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Lanny Gilmore received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Lake Mohawk FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 38th minute, when Lanny Gilmore scored to the left of an out of position Lucrețiu Gherase, making the score, 4-1. With a little luck, Lake Mohawk FC's Lucrețiu Gherase got control of the ball when Lanny Gilmore tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dan Feliciano kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The audience was convinced that Lanny Gilmore's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lucrețiu Gherase was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. If Lanny Gilmore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69thth minute of the game Lanny Gilmore who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lake Mohawk FC's Lucrețiu Gherase was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Lake Mohawk FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tyron Velasquez came free, but Lucrețiu Gherase reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Lake Mohawk FC's zone, Lanny Gilmore stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lucrețiu Gherase came out of the goal and Lanny Gilmore tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lanny Gilmore received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Lucrețiu Gherase tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Warren Ruiz in the 80th minute of play forced Lake Mohawk FC's goalkeeper Lucrețiu Gherase to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute, Lanny Gilmore left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Santos FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. Lucrețiu Gherase showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tyron Velasquez in the 90th minute of the match. Santos FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
