Aldo Hawk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jospeh McNally made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gualterio Aguirre in the 10th minute of play. Gualterio Aguirre had several of the Brooklyn SC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 11 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Jospeh McNally as he didn't even see the shot coming. When Brooklyn SC's Jonas Cole in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Atletico Patoruzu's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Atletico Patoruzu's Marcelo-Luis Butcher got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Gualterio Aguirre could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Jospeh McNally made a huge save. Atletico Patoruzu's Aldo Hawk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonas Cole in the 32nd minute of play. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by Atletico Patoruzu's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jonas Cole was slow to take the kick. During this time Brooklyn SC's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Brooklyn SC's corner Jonas Cole fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Aldo Hawk quite easily take care of the ball. A hard shot 44 in the game by Gualterio Aguirre from a close distance when the talented Jospeh McNally managed to make a qualified save. Brooklyn SC's players were relieved. Gualterio Aguirres short, quick shot in the 44thth minute got Jospeh McNally to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Aldo Hawk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dwight Schrute, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
Atletico Patoruzu's Ezra Shepard was substituted for Willie Staton. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gualterio Aguirre to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gualterio Aguirre in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jospeh McNally saved Brooklyn SC from getting behind. When Eddie Zamora came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Brooklyn SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eddie Zamora couldn't finish the play. Aldo Hawk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerardo Beard, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Brooklyn SC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jonas Cole in the 76th minute. Trenton Long was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Rene Harman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Jospeh McNally tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Gualterio Aguirre's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jospeh McNally was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. In the 90th minute Trenton Long shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aldo Hawk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 94 minutes into the match, Brooklyn SC's goal looked a bit too open when Gualterio Aguirre came free, but Jospeh McNally reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
