Vatan Enfal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Laçın Cumayev read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. Inter de Chillán's Tobías Izamit was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Laçın Cumayev in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Tobías Izamit's long shot made the audience stand up and applaude when it rumbled by Laçın Cumayev on his right side and into the goal. 6 minutes into the game it was 1-0. A collision led to SC Braga getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Antonio Cieri hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stig-Åke Mattsson in the 18th minute of play forced Inter de Chillán's goalkeeper Anton Björnberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd minute of the match, Vatan Enfal tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Laçın Cumayev saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 22 minutes, Vatan Enfal made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. SC Braga's Laçın Cumayev tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Arnaldo Detmer hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Samuel Abel came free with the goalkeeper in the 28th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Laçın Cumayev could save by the left post. Anton Björnberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamin de Lara in the 31st minute of play. Alfonso Sotta hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Benjamin de Lara scored 2-1 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Anton Björnberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alberto Malheiro got a throw-in 42 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Antonio Cieri. Anton Björnberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benjamin de Lara, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Through an outstanding action, after 45 minutes, Laçın Cumayev successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 46th minute, Arnaldo Detmer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lu Xun Lei was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 47th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vatan Enfal was the one to do the kick off. Anton Björnberg made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Benjamin de Lara sent off a good shot on target. Inter de Chillán's Anton Björnberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Inter de Chillán from getting a goal against them. 59 minutes into the match, Inter de Chillán's Vatan Enfal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Laçın Cumayev narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Anton Björnberg made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Antonio Cieri sent off a good shot on target. Inter de Chillán made a substitution. Rickard Erserman replaced Vatan Enfal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stig-Åke Mattsson in the 69th minute of play forced Inter de Chillán's goalkeeper Anton Björnberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SC Braga's Zigmantas Gimbutas was substituted for Jon-Egil Sætre. In the 71st minute of the match SC Braga got a corner. Inter de Chillán's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Quintino Carvalhais ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 77th minute, Rickard Erserman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Inter de Chillán fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. Inter de Chillán's Anton Björnberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stig-Åke Mattsson in the 79th minute of play. Alberto Malheiro made in the 84th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Lu Xun Lei. Laçın Cumayev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rickard Erserman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valdomiro Lira hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match.
