After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Suleiman Süleyman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Romania's supporters rose to their feet, but Suleiman Süleyman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Robert Bresson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Robert Bresson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Suleiman Süleyman, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mihnea Stanca in the 13th minute of play forced Spain's goalkeeper Robert Bresson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jose Heredia might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aurel Crivoi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jose Heredia ran back to his position shaking his head. Aurel Crivoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jose Heredia in the 15th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Romania's Suleiman Süleyman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Robert Bresson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Jose Heredia made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Romania's Remus Pincharoen got a free kick in the 51st minute. Suleiman Süleyman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Suleiman Süleyman in the 66th minute of play forced Spain's goalkeeper Robert Bresson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cordarin Escurza might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aurel Crivoi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cordarin Escurza ran back to his position shaking his head. Spain made a substitution. Francesc Tamari replaced Quintin Gomar. Spain's Robert Bresson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Suleiman Süleyman in the 74th minute of play. Romania's Aurel Crivoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Coronel Castro in the 77th minute of play. Aurel Crivoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Coronel Castro in the 82nd minute of play. Aurel Crivoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francesc Tamari, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Suleiman Süleyman kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Coronel Castro in the 92nd minute of play forced Romania's goalkeeper Aurel Crivoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 94 minutes into the match, Romania's goal looked a bit too open when Edorta Portillo came free, but Aurel Crivoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 95 minutes had been played when some careless play by Romania's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edorta Portillo was slow to take the kick. During this time Spain's players had a chance to rest. Spain's Edorta Portillo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Aurel Crivoi in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The Spain supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Romania's performance. The match ended with a win for Romania.
