Filipp Debabov started the match with the kick off. After 2 minutes, Hélder Custódio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Academia Militar MZ and the FC Caspiy players grew even worse after the yellow card. Arkhip Repin took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 3rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Diamantino Magalhães. Academia Militar MZ's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 4th match minute, Academia Militar MZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilmar Torres to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilmar Torres in the 6th minute of play forced FC Caspiy's goalkeeper Martyn Baiseitov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diamantino Magalhães made an important save on a dangerous shot by Filipp Debabov in the 12th minute. Martyn Baiseitov came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Academia Militar MZ's Hélder Custódio. But to his dismay, Hélder Custódio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filipp Debabov in the 18th minute of play forced Academia Militar MZ's goalkeeper Diamantino Magalhães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diamantino Magalhães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filipp Debabov in the 24th minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, FC Caspiy's goal looked a bit too open when Hélder Custódio came free, but Martyn Baiseitov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th match minute, FC Caspiy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrey Lisnyanskiy to maneuver through the defense. In the 27th minute, Hélder Custódio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 28 played minutes, FC Caspiy's Vladimir Bogdanov shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Diamantino Magalhães came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Caspiy reached it. When Bernd Goldsche came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Academia Militar MZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernd Goldsche couldn't finish the play. In the 35thth minute of the game Bernd Goldsche who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Caspiy's Martyn Baiseitov was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Academia Militar MZ's Hélder Custódio got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carlinhos Carvalho hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. In the 43rd minute of the match Vladimir Bogdanov shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Diamantino Magalhães showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Konstantin Yakin hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Academia Militar MZ's Diamantino Magalhães proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Academia Militar MZ from getting a goal against them. The FC Caspiy players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Academia Militar MZ were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bernd Goldsche made a kick off. Hélder Custódio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Martyn Baiseitov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to FC Caspiy getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Arkhip Repin hit a great ball. In the 57th minute of the match, Hélder Custódio tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Martyn Baiseitov saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Hélder Custódio was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 60th minute. Academia Militar MZ's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After some careless play in the FC Caspiy defense, Bernd Goldsche kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Martyn Baiseitov. The FC Caspiy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Martyn Baiseitov should have stopped the shot. Bernd Goldsche struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Martyn Baiseitov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Academia Militar MZ. 68 minutes into the match, FC Caspiy's goalkeeper Martyn Baiseitov had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hélder Custódio. In the 69th minute Academia Militar MZ were awarded a corner. Gilmar Torres went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Arí Pitta almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC Caspiy's Martyn Baiseitov did a great save. In the 71st minute of the match, Hélder Custódio tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Martyn Baiseitov saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Diamantino Magalhães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filipp Debabov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Diamantino Magalhães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Boris Nekrasov in the 78th minute of play. FC Caspiy's Martyn Baiseitov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save FC Caspiy from getting a goal against them. 90 minutes into the game, Academia Militar MZ's Gilmar Torres nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Martyn Baiseitov made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. If Klim Muravev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Academia Militar MZ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Academia Militar MZ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
