After a defensive mix-up in FC Steaua Pildesti's zone, Özen Mukremin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marian Văduvescu came out of the goal and Özen Mukremin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nechifor Zeciu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucian Stere, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Corneliu Cănănău kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. The supporters of Bucura booed when FC Steaua Pildesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nae Griguță didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 12 minutes, Corneliu Cănănău managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bucura's supporters crossed their fingers, but Corneliu Cănănău was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Steaua Pildesti's goalkeeper Marian Văduvescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marian Văduvescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Özen Mukremin, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zygmunt Dunajski in the 23rd minute of play forced Bucura's goalkeeper Nechifor Zeciu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nechifor Zeciu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucian Stere, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
Bucura made a substitution. Aresti Tello replaced Özen Mukremin. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aresti Tello to make the kick off. Marian Văduvescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aresti Tello, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Marian Văduvescu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Marian Văduvescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aresti Tello in the 88th minute of the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Bucura fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 90th minute. Penalty! Bucura:s Nechifor Zeciu showed great skill when he stopped Lucian Stere:s penalty. Bucura's Codrin Bala was substituted for Rod Stewart. In the 99th minute, Terry Doyle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bucura were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of FC Steaua Pildesti for a fine match.
