Chris Adelaar made in the 4th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Ellecom FC's Gerwin Oortwijn. Hendrik-Jan Willemsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 17 minutes into the game, Marcel Hilberts recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Hendrik-Jan Willemsen. Marcel Hilberts showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Hendrik-Jan Willemsen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jan-Peter Wittendorp's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Graspeel FC's Benjamin Spierenburg managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Barry Schenkhuizen in the 24 minute of the game. The supporters of Ellecom FC booed when Graspeel FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niek Pilage didn't get a good kick on the ball. Henry van Zalingen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karel Spannenburg having to interfere. Youri Waesbergen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Filip Blikman kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Youri Waesbergen to make the kick off. Karel Spannenburg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lukas Sturm, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Gerwin Oortwijn hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. 61 minutes into the match, Graspeel FC's goal looked a bit too open when Filip Blikman came free, but Hendrik-Jan Willemsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Roland Heulmann fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Graspeel FC's protests and gave Roland Heulmann a yellow card for diving instead. A sloppy throw-in by Hans Hoekstra in the 78th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Ellecom FC's Gerwin Oortwijn. In the 83rd minute of the match, Ferdi Hermensen tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Karel Spannenburg saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 87 minutes into the game, Joris Wolf threw the ball into play from the sideline. Ellecom FC's Gerwin Oortwijn quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. When Jan-Peter Wittendorp came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Ellecom FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jan-Peter Wittendorp couldn't finish the play. It was a penalty for Graspeel FC! The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ellecom FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Graspeel FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
