Alfred Tevreden's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vincent Haas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Warande S.C.'s Boudewijn Post got a free kick in the 5th minute. Joost van der Leegte kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Alfred Tevreden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vincent Haas having to interfere. 13 minutes in the game Gerard Hofmeester did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Boudewijn Post. In the 18th minute, Andreas Verweijen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ate Kik was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Elbert van Persie's late challenge caught a Meliestraat SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Elbert van Persie helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andreas Verweijen in the 27th minute of play forced Meliestraat SC's goalkeeper Ate Kik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th minute Godfried van Driest shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vincent Haas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hendrik-Jan Haken sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Godfried van Driest to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Warande S.C.'s zone, Godfried van Driest stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vincent Haas came out of the goal and Godfried van Driest tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Warande S.C.'s Remco Tamminga got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Vincent Haas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Godfried van Driest, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Hendrik-Jan Haken fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vincent Haas having to interfere. Tomas Overmars got a throw-in 65 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Joost van der Leegte. Godfried van Driest blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vincent Haas having to make a save. Hendrik-Jan Haken might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vincent Haas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hendrik-Jan Haken ran back to his position shaking his head. When Meliestraat SC's Godfried van Driest in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Warande S.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. 71 minutes into the game, Jan-Willem Scholte threw the ball into play from the sideline. Jan Smits was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 86th minute. Warande S.C.'s manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The supporters of Warande S.C. booed when Meliestraat SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Godfried van Driest didn't get a good kick on the ball. In a very dangerous position, a player in Meliestraat SC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 91st minute. Penalty! 96 minutes in the game, Andreas Verweijen fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ate Kik having to interfere. The Warande S.C. players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Meliestraat SC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
