With an all-out effort, Graspeel FC's Philip Carter threw himself towards the right post 10 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Lukas Sturm, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Lukas Sturm succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 10th playminute. Hendrik-Jan Willemsen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wesley Robinson's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. After 22 played minutes Qurbo FC got a freekick which was hit by Matthew Hamer. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Roland Heulmann during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ferdi Hermensen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Philip Carter read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Qurbo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ferdi Hermensen came free, but Philip Carter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Ferdi Hermensen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wesley Robinson in the 34th minute of play forced Graspeel FC's goalkeeper Hendrik-Jan Willemsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hendrik-Jan Willemsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leon Vickers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Graspeel FC defense, Matthew Hamer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hendrik-Jan Willemsen. The Graspeel FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hendrik-Jan Willemsen should have stopped the shot. Ferdi Hermensen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Philip Carter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 45 played minutes, Qurbo FC's Kris Rushmere shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hendrik-Jan Willemsen came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Qurbo FC reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferdi Hermensen in the 46th minute of play forced Qurbo FC's goalkeeper Philip Carter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The referee ignored Qurbo FC's protests and gave Chip Kitching a yellow card for diving instead. Chip Kitching kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Ferdi Hermensen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Philip Carter having to interfere. In the 82nd match minute, Qurbo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matthew Hamer to maneuver through the defense.
