Mihăiţă Hurezeanu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 37thth minute tested the skills of Philip Carter when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 40thth minute of the game Chip Kitching who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Horus's Călin Ungheanu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Călin Ungheanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wesley Robinson, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After the first half Qurbo FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anton Bojonca stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The Horus fans' excitement grew in the 73rd match minute when Horus's Eusebiu Zdrehuş looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 76 minutes, Eusebiu Zdrehuş mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Horus and the Qurbo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Warren Winehouse's late challenge caught a Horus's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vic Johnson charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vic Johnson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Vic Johnson kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. The Horus manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Qurbo FC to win.
