The referee ignored Futbol Club RRFV's protests and gave Zé Rocha a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Futbol Club RRFV getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Zé Rocha hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlos Alberto de Sousa in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dušan Szilagyi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. FC DAC 1904's Dušan Szilagyi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Alberto de Sousa in the 25th minute of play. In the 27th minute Futbol Club RRFV were awarded a corner. Dedê Freire went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Luís Guilherme Mesquita managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Dušan Szilagyi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dorival do Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomáš Gál might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fernando Miguel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomáš Gál ran back to his position shaking his head. Through an outstanding action, after 34 minutes, Fernando Miguel successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Dušan Szilagyi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Alberto de Sousa in the 35th minute of play. Dorival do Vale took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dušan Szilagyi. Dušan Szilagyi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The Futbol Club RRFV fans' excitement grew in the 40th match minute when Futbol Club RRFV's Carlos Alberto de Sousa looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Dorival do Vale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Dušan Szilagyi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 73rd minute Carlos Alberto de Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dušan Szilagyi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Futbol Club RRFV's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
