The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute of the match Noia got a corner. Preator Edikt's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Saverio Amor ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 10th minute Norberto Villegas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Pihlberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Preator Edikt's Jan Pihlberg got control of the ball when Silviu Miclea tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Horia Tătaru in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Geovani Velloso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jan Pihlberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Norberto Villegas in the 26th minute of the match. In the 28th minute Noia were awarded a corner. Saverio Amor went to the cornerflag to take it. Horia Tătaru blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Geovani Velloso having to make a save. Geovani Velloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horia Tătaru in the 30th minute of the match. Horia Tătaru took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Geovani Velloso. Geovani Velloso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Noia's goalkeeper Geovani Velloso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jan Pihlberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Norberto Villegas in the 36th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Horia Tătaru in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. It was Luís Gustavo Barbosa who took care of the corner kick. Karl-Ove Örtendal lost his temper 45 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The goalkeeper, Jan Pihlberg, was totally fooled by Noia's Saverio Amor, who 47 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Horia Tătaru made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Noia's zone, Jiang stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geovani Velloso came out of the goal and Jiang tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 59 minutes into the match, Noia's goalkeeper Geovani Velloso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Horia Tătaru. Horia Tătaru who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 59thth minute tested the skills of Geovani Velloso when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Geovani Velloso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Horia Tătaru's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. Preator Edikt's Jan Pihlberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albertinho Campidelis in the 73rd minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Noia's goal looked a bit too open when Horia Tătaru came free, but Geovani Velloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norberto Villegas in the 77th minute of play forced Preator Edikt's goalkeeper Jan Pihlberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 78th minute Horia Tătaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovani Velloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jan Pihlberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norberto Villegas in the 81st minute of play. In the 85th minute, Silviu Miclea ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jan Pihlberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. 88 minutes into the match, Preator Edikt's goal looked a bit too open when Norberto Villegas came free, but Jan Pihlberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 91 minutes into the game, Noia's Silviu Miclea nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jan Pihlberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2.
