After 90 played minutes LanParty got a freekick which was hit by Juan Román. 93 minutes into the match, Inter de Guayaquil FC's Zé Pedro Baptista sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ramon Domiku narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of LanParty booed when Inter de Guayaquil FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xavier Zanetti didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sebastian Hellkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Hulberto in the 97th minute of play. LanParty's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
