Ricardo Ortiz hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. In the 18th minute Josué da Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacinto de Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. REAL RIO CRVG's Régis Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Júlio Pombal in the 19th minute of play. Jacinto de Azevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Josué da Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Régis Mota made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júlio Pombal in the 32nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Josué da Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot. REAL RIO CRVG's supporters rose to their feet, but Josué da Cunha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacinto de Azevedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 40th minute, Rubens Marinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ademar Donato was the one to do the kick off. Augusto das Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ademar Donato fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Régis Mota having to interfere. Milanis E.C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 55th minute, when Josué da Cunha scored to the left of an out of position Jacinto de Azevedo, making the score, 0-1. 75 minutes into the match, REAL RIO CRVG's goal looked a bit too open when Augusto das Neves came free, but Régis Mota reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Milanis E.C.'s Jacinto de Azevedo got control of the ball when Léo Pitta tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Milanis E.C.'s zone, Josué da Cunha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacinto de Azevedo came out of the goal and Josué da Cunha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With 87 minutes on the clock, Sidnei Matorin commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
