Tiaguinho Lucas charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tiaguinho Lucas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 4th minute, Tiaguinho Lucas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. REAL RIO CRVG's Ricardo Ortiz shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 5th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Zé Rocha but with some difficulty. 10 minutes into the match, Futbol Club RRFV's goal looked a bit too open when Mané Tavares came free, but Zé Rocha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gustavo Aguiar might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zé Rocha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gustavo Aguiar ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Futbol Club RRFV's Zé Rocha got control of the ball when Gustavo Aguiar tried to sneak it across the goal line. Régis Mota made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Paulo Esteves in the 29th minute of play. Noel Pombal charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Noel Pombal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of REAL RIO CRVG booed when Futbol Club RRFV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Noel Pombal didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th match minute, REAL RIO CRVG was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rubens Marinho to maneuver through the defense. 48 minutes into the game, Futbol Club RRFV's Zé Paulo Esteves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Régis Mota made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zé Paulo Esteves to strike the kick off in the second half. Zé Paulo Esteves came free with the goalkeeper in the 54th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Régis Mota could save by the left post. In the 56th minute, Ricardo Ortiz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, REAL RIO CRVG's Gustavo Aguiar got a free kick in the 58th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Jacinto Neto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Futbol Club RRFV's supporters rose to their feet, but Jacinto Neto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Régis Mota breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Régis Mota made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Dorival do Vale sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to REAL RIO CRVG getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Juninho Rossi hit a great ball. Régis Mota made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zé Paulo Esteves in the 65th minute. With a little luck, REAL RIO CRVG's Régis Mota got control of the ball when Zé Paulo Esteves tried to sneak it across the goal line. Josué da Cunha scored 1-2 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zé Rocha, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Régis Mota showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Paulo Esteves, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Zé Paulo Esteves received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Régis Mota came out and tried to block the shot, but Zé Paulo Esteves slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 79th minute. In the 82nd match minute, REAL RIO CRVG was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mané Tavares to maneuver through the defense. If Dorival do Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 90 minutes into the game, César Brito recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Régis Mota. César Brito showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. REAL RIO CRVG's Régis Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Paulo Esteves in the 96th minute of play.
