The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Donato Fliz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anselmo Mateo in the 6th minute. Israel Vergaray showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermengildo Rufio in the 7th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Rivermania FC's Nereo Fresco got a free kick in the 8th minute. Anselmo Mateo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Donato Fliz made a huge save. 11 minutes into the match, Rivermania FC's goalkeeper Donato Fliz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Teodoro Ekialde. Israel Vergaray showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermengildo Rufio in the 14th minute of the match. After 15 played minutes Rivermania FC got a freekick which was hit by Uriel Illart. After 16 played minutes Rivermania FC got a freekick which was hit by Nereo Fresco. Through an outstanding action, after 17 minutes, Donato Fliz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Israel Vergaray showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauricio Sergi, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. 26 minutes into the match, Nahitantino's goal looked a bit too open when Hermengildo Rufio came free, but Israel Vergaray reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mauricio Sergi's late challenge caught a Nahitantino's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mauricio Sergi helped the player get up and apologised. In the 29th minute, Mauricio Sergi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Donato Fliz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silverio Jorrin in the 31st minute of play. 33 minutes into the game, Nahitantino's Anselmo Mateo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Donato Fliz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After some careless play in the Nahitantino defense, Hermengildo Rufio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Israel Vergaray. The Nahitantino fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Israel Vergaray should have stopped the shot. 42 minutes into the match, Rivermania FC's goal looked a bit too open when Evelio Gar came free, but Donato Fliz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 43 minutes Rivermania FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Octavio Estavan who took care of the corner kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anselmo Mateo made a kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Nahitantino's Evelio Gar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Donato Fliz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 55th minute Silverio Jorrin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donato Fliz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clodoveo Caetano in the 57th minute of play forced Rivermania FC's goalkeeper Donato Fliz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Nahitantino getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Silverio Jorrin hit a great ball. Rivermania FC's Donato Fliz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evelio Gar in the 64th minute of play. The referee gave Mauricio Sergi a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game.
