Armando Felipillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roberto Layton having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Carlo Darrigrande's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lev Yashin was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benedicto Naelio to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benedicto Naelio in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roberto Layton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Argentina had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
