San Lorenzo's Matias Carlomagno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lionel-Andrés Messi in the 23rd minute of play. After 28 played minutes San Lorenzo got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Soriano. Mo Yi Sang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 33 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Sauveur came free, but Matias Carlomagno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute Lionel-Andrés Messi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matias Carlomagno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo's goal looked a bit too open when Uriel Ferrer came free, but Matias Carlomagno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Uriel Ferrer in the 45th minute of play forced San Lorenzo's goalkeeper Matias Carlomagno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of San Lorenzo booed when Defensores de Lombroso was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teofilo Esdras didn't get a good kick on the ball.

In the 53rd minute, Ubaldo Gelacio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Matias Carlomagno was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 58th minute, Osvaldo Llorienzo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Matias Carlomagno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Godfredo Gau, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Bruno Sauveur succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-2 in the 67th playminute. Bruno Sauveur fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matias Carlomagno having to interfere. Doni Arce recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 76 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo's goal looked a bit too open when Ubaldo Gelacio came free, but Matias Carlomagno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Defensores de Lombroso's Ubaldo Gelacio got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Defensores de Lombroso's Valentín Barco was substituted for Federico Pirro. After 83 played minutes Defensores de Lombroso got a freekick which was hit by Ubaldo Gelacio. Denis Paulin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Doni Arce's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. After 90 played minutes Defensores de Lombroso got a freekick which was hit by Ubaldo Gelacio. In the 94th minute Kara Melo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denis Paulin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bruno Sauveur was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 97th minute. Defensores de Lombroso's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Defensores de Lombroso played a much better game than San Lorenzo and deserved their victory. The San Lorenzo players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
