Ronaldo Nazário De Limas short, quick shot in the 13thth minute got Antônio Borges to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Bernardo Moreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacinto de Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 16 minutes into the game, Jacinto de Lara cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. PIRATAS TFP's Antônio Borges proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save PIRATAS TFP from getting a goal against them. In the 28th minute of the match, Ronaldo Nazário De Lima tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Antônio Borges saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ronaldo Nazário De Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antônio Borges having to interfere. The throw-in from Sydney Guerra in the 37th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by PIRATAS TFP's Clemente Pires. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Bernardo Moreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto de Lara in the 95th minute of play. PIRATAS TFP's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
